A quick note to say that I’ve been working all day on my Advanced Fiction Writing E-zine and it is sent out now. If those pesky spam filters are preventing you from getting it, all issues are archived here.
We’ll return tomorrow with some closing thoughts from Jeff Gerke on marketing.

Hi Randy
I have read every word on the blog during the past few days and it made me think, amongst other things, of your repeated warning against self-publishers and of which I have taken full notice.
I have now spoken to a local self-publishing company who will charge me R3 500,00 (about $730), to print a book. The book is, in my humble opinion, a work of excellent Christian fiction.
I have no platform and no newsletter, but due to my position in my church, I have access to the postal address of every congregation of the church country wide.
Once the book is published, I will not feel guilty, as if abusing the church, as I believe that many of my fellow parishioners will very much enjoy reading the book.
Or do you think that I should stick to the old proven policy of only dealing with royalty paying publishers?
Daan Van der Merwe says
Sorry! No, according to the current Dollar/Rand exchange rate, it is more like $520.

Re exchange rate: Keep those tourist Euros coming!!! ๐

Sure. I’ll keep it in mind when I visit France next year. ๐
