Most of my loyal blog readers receive my Advanced Fiction Writing E-zine, so they will have already received an e-mail earlier today about this. But in case you missed it:

(Step 10 is to write your first draft, but you already have the word processor of your choice as an incredibly powerful tool to help you with that task.)
Snowflake Pro has a killer feature that I added as a bonus — it automatically creates the skeleton of a book proposal, using any information available from the first six steps of the Snowflake method. Bear in mind that Snowflake Pro is not about creating a proposal. It’s about creating a design for your novel. But a handy side effect is that a good design contains most of the elements of a proposal. So your proposal will still contain some gaps, but Snowflake Pro will insert some helpful comments in those gaps to tell you how to write things like your market analysis and marketing plan.

A quick note to mention that my latest humor article featuring dear old Sam the Plumber was posted a week or two ago. I forgot to mention it. Sam latest foray into the publishing world is his slightly bent book review service, “Honest Injun Reviews.” You can only imagine what Sam is up to this time.
Things continue here at a frenetic pace. After I finished off the first draft of WRITING FICTION FOR DUMMIES two weeks ago, just meeting my deadline, I then spent most of a week at a writing conference. It was great to see some of my loyal blog readers there, but when I got back, I already had a stack of chapters in my e-mail in-box with editorial revision comments.
So I’m now working on revisions. As I mentioned in my last post, the book is about 122,000 words, so it’s going to be a tremendously demanding job to get it all edited. I’m looking forward to getting the book complete and on store shelves (you can already see it listed on Amazon). The problem for me is that this book is one of three major projects I have going on right now, so I have very little free time.
When I get a chance to catch my breath, I’ll be back to a more regular blogging schedule. However, I thought I should post a quick note here to say that my latest column, featuring Sam the Plumber, is now posted online. Sam gave me a whole new perspective on the concept of “preaching to the choir.” I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on Sam’s thoughts.
A quick note to say that I hit my deadline yesterday for completing the first draft of FICTION WRITING FOR DUMMIES. I’ve been silent lately because I’ve been working hard to get it done on time. By my count, it’s over 120,000 words, which is a lot to write in four months.
I should start getting revision requests back within a week or two, so I’ll soon be back at the grindstone, but for now, I’ve got a few free hours. It’s nice to be done. I’ve rethought a few things about fiction writing as I tried to make things simpler and better.
